8th Annual Doolin Walk set for April 18, 2010

April 2010

"The 8th Annual Five Mile Walk" in Doolin, Co. Clare, Ireland, is scheduled to be held on April 18h this year. The walk begins and ends at Doolin's Russell Cultural Center whose members have been instrumental in organizing the annual event. The nearly circular route adopted 7 years ago includes both hills and valleys to make the walk more challenging and gave organizers better control over opening and closing ceremonies. Light refreshments, Raffles and Traditional Irish music followed the event.

Vinson Owen Car Wash- Saturday April 10th.

The schoolchildren at the Vinson Owen School in Winchester are hosting a Carwash and Craft fair on Sat 10th, from 9:00am to 12:00pm, where you can also pre register for this years Walk/Race. You can also register, or donate on line and learn all about the foundation at www.michaeldunleavy.com We'll have lots of great prizes, raffles, food, music and family fun at this years Walk. Michael Dunleavy Memorial Pediatric Brain Tumor Fund at MGH receives donation:

December 2009

The Michael Dunleavy Foundation, makes another sizable donation to the Michael Dunleavy Memorial Pediatric Brain Tumor Fund at MassGeneral Hospital for Children. The Memorial Fund, established in November of 2003, was presented with a check for $20,000 from the Michael Dunleavy Foundation. We invite you all to read the thank you letter from MGH and share in the pride we feel for the great work YOU have done. Together we are making a difference.

Camp Sunshine Receives Donation:

November 2009

The Michael Dunleavy Foundation, is proud to continue its support of Camp Sunshine, located in Casco, Maine. Camp Sunshine is a retreat for children with life threatening illnesses and their families. This years $5000 contribution has helped Camp Sunshine expand their programs and have one of their best years ever. We add our heart felt thanks to all of you that helped to make our efforts a success.

Hello to all our friends and Foundation supporters,
Spring is just around the corner and in just 10 days on April 11th, we will be holding our annual fundraiser in Winchester. Please collect as many sponsorships as possible, (remember every dollar counts in the fight against cancer). The registration opens at 10am and the race starts at 1:00pm with the walk starting immediately thereafter. The schoolchildren are also hosting a Carwash and Craft fair on Sat 10th, from 9:00am to 12:00pm, where you can also pre register. You can also register, or donate on line and learn all about the foundation at www.michaeldunleavy.com We have lots of great prizes, raffles, food, music and family fun. All proceeds go to Mass General Hospital pediatric cancer center and Camp Sunshine in Maine. If you would like to volunteer, we would appreciate your help. Please contact us and we will give you further details. This year our foundation is being honored by Mass General Hospital Cancer Center as part of The One Hundred. This is an honor that recognizes one hundred individuals and groups whose diligence and discoveries, philanthropy and passion have helped advance the fight against cancer. For this we Thank all of you, our volunteers and participants. Let's make this our best fundraising year ever, to help advance the fight against cancer. Let's pray for good weather and we hope to see you on April 11th.
