9th Annual Doolin Walk a great success!
April 2011
"The 9th Annual Five Mile Walk" in Doolin, Co. Clare, Ireland, was held on April 17th amid fair skies and
warm sunshine. Hundreds of supporters participated in this years walk which began and ended at Doolin's Russell Cultural Center whose members have been instrumental
in organizing this annual event. Toni Dunleavy, Michael's Mother was on hand to represent Michael's family from the US and lend an hand where needed. Also in attendance to represent the family were Michael's Grandmother Mary Dunleavy, and several Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Young and old alike enjoyed the invigorating stroll through the Irish country side and the
refreshments, raffles and Traditional Irish music following the walk is always a big hit. All proceeds are donated to the Irish Cancer society in
Michael's memory. Our heart felt thanks go out to all the walkers and donors and in particular the tireless volunteers and supporters who help make this annual event a great success.

Martignetti Family's sixth annual Bocce for Charity Tournament :
October 2010
The Martignetti Family's sixth annual Bocce for Charity Tournament was held on October 10, 2010 in Derry New Hampshire. This year at the urging of Maya Martignetti, who was a classmate and friend of Michaels, the Martignetti family donated the proceeds of this years event to our foundation. We are both humbled and honored by this gesture.
Here is what the Dunleavy family posted on their Facebook page about this event:
The entire Dunleavy Family would like to say a "Huge Thank You", to Maya and all the Martignetti Family for a wonderful day at the family Bocce tournament. We all had a great time and because of you, your family and friends, the Foundation named in honor of our son Michael, has now over $30 thousand dollars more to donate to pediatric cancer research and a camp which helps families who are dealing with this terrible disease..
Sincerly,
Gerry,Toni and children

Note from Dunleavy Family on Doolin Walk
April 11, 2011
Dear Friends,
The 9th annual Michael Dunleavy Walk will take place in Doolin on Sunday April 17th starting at 1.00pm at the Russell center. If you are in the area we would love to see you, and if you would please pass the word to relatives and friends. If you are living in the US please let your Irish relatives and friends know about this event. You can get sponsorship cards by calling Mary O Donoghue at (065) 707 4342, or Maurice Dunleavy at (087) 291 2916. You can view more information on line at www.michaeldunleavy.com.
As the newspaper article states some of the money raised is used to re engineer adult chemotherapy drugs, so that they can be used in children with brain tumors. This will give these children a much better chance than Michael had. Every little bit helps in the fight against this terrible disease.
Thank You!
The Dunleavy Family
