The Michael J. Dunleavy Foundation thanks all of you for your help and support. We believe our work to be an important and crucial element in the fight against childhood cancers and brain tumors. Technology is moving at breakneck speed toward uncovering the causes of this disease. But technology requires huge investments that not one of us could afford alone. Together, as a group, we can help to fuel this research and hasten the day when we can all read the headline in the newspaper " Cure for Cancer Found".
It is true we cannot go backwards to help all those who have gone before us. But through your generosity we can certainly make a difference to those who are suffering now, and those who could be spared the suffering in the future. In Michael Dunleavy's final weeks he exhibited a tremendous awareness for an 8 year old, of the devastating hardships of not only the afflicted, but their families as well. In his own way, Michael laid the corner stone for the Foundation when he set up a Lemonade Stand and announced the proceeds were to be given to help others who were sick like he was.
